OK, so you just purchased a new PROcede CANbus, now what? Well, there is a lot to think about… you have just acquired the most advanced and customizable tune available for your 335/135/535, congratulations, and let the fun begin! You probably have the most recent maps and firmware, but maybe you want to change your settings, check for updates, or get information on how to install the unit and its accompanying software packages… you’ve come to the right place.
First things first… Install the unit in your car. 
Things you will need:
- 8mm socket wrench/driver
- tiny flat head screwdriver
- about 30-60 minutes
- your serial to usb adapter for updating maps and changing settings, THIS ONE from radio shack is perfect.
Install video:
Its good to watch this video a few times before diving in your first time… familiarize yourself with the components and steps. I am not going to go through the video on this page, so make sure to follow all of its steps.
Things that the video doesn’t mention:
- Some cars have another sensor on the drivers side as well, the wires will need to be unplugged from this.
- The temperature sensor that you remove at the begining has a small circle push tab that you should push in before rotating it.
Running the USB cable through the glovebox is a GREAT time saver… here is a DIY on how to do that.
So you’ve got your unit installed, and you are ready to install the PROcede software. There are a few things to keep in mind… the newest version works good with 32bit as well as 64bit Windoes PC’s… there is no installer, just extract the zip file into a folder and keep it somewhere in your files all together. You also will want to make sure you know the comm port of your serial to usb adapter after you install it… you can easily find that out by looking in the control panel, selecting “system” and then “device manager” … look under comm and lpt ports section.

Also, keep in mind that a LOT of the software features have changed for V4, so you may have to do some digging!
PROcede reader - software download of the PDE Reader software, windows only. You must extract the files, and then run the program from your hard drive. There is no longer an installer program.
The “NEW CUSTOMERS READ ME” post – this post describes much of what I have said here, and also provides download links to the software and basic info on using it to configure your maps. The maps attached to this thread are not the newest.
User Adjustables - This post explains all of the adjustable parameters in the PROcede software.
How to updated maps and firmware – This somewhat outdated post gives the basics behind updating maps and firmware.
DOWNLOAD NEWEST MAPS AND FIRMWARE – this is the juicy post. It’s the one that houses the latest and greatest software that vishnu has released… this is what I would suggest most people to use to get the most out of your PROcede, but be prepared to follow documentation to a T, because these are considered “beta”, although pretty rock solid.
Learn how to datalog – This post describes how to use your PROcede to create spiffy detailed techno-babble about your engine.
Code reading/clearing – Use your PROcede to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes… what other tune can do this?!?!? badass. period. For some reason you have to go to this post for the trouble code definitions download.
