Gauge Modes / Readings
We designed the P3 Gauge to read the most important data from your specific vehicle for easy plug and play install. You'll get everything you need with a single OBD port connection to be up and running in minutes. If you wish to add additional sensors, or not use OBD at all, advanced tuners can use analog inputs or even run in "analog only" mode.
OBD Port Data (CANbus input):
- Boost Pressure
- Coolant Temp
- Engine Oil Temp
- Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR or Lambda)
- Vehicle Speed (Calibrated or Raw)
- Intake Air Temp
- Throttle Angle
- Ignition Timing
- Engine RPM (with shiftlight)
- EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp)
- Battery Volts
- Acceration timers (0-60, 0-100, 60-130)
- Braking timers (60-0, 100-0)
- Read and clear DTC (Trouble Codes)
Optional Analog Inputs:
Optional but powerful. The analog inputs on the P3 Gauge allow you to use up 3 extra sensors to read data. In addition, it also provides a 4th input for auto-dimming display capability.
- Analog Boost Input
Use the P3 Analog Boost Sensor to read up to 80psi boost for advanced tuners and cars with aftermarket forced induction kits. - 2x Universal 0-5v Inputs
Two individual 0-5volt universal analog inputs with flexible configuration allows for near infinite possibilities and customization. - Dimmer Voltage Detection Input
Configure the gauge to d.On.A mode and anything over 1 volt tells the gauge to dim, perfect for easy tapping into existing interior lighting.
Supported Vehicles
- Subaru BRZ 2nd Gen (2022–present)
- Toyota 86 / GT86 / GR86 2nd Gen (2022–present)
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can the P3 Gauge display both English and Metric units?
Yes. You can configure units to English, Metric, or a mix of both, with selections for PSI/inHg, BAR, Celsius, Fahrenheit, MPH and KPH.
-
Can the P3 Gauge handle extreme temperatures?
Yes. We have torture-tested our gauges from well below freezing to extreme heat well beyond typical in-car conditions, including scenarios hot enough to soften or melt plastics, and they continued to function without failure.
-
Do I need the optional sensors?
In most vehicles, no additional sensors are required for all the supported modes. Certain readings that are not provided by the ECU, aftermarket kits like superchargers, turbochargers or ethanol may require our optional analog sensor/adapter kit, depending on the data you want to monitor.
-
Do I need to buy anything extra or is it Plug and Play?
The P3 Gauge comes with everything you need. The optional tools and add-ons we offer are for those looking for extras or to go beyond the standard readings listed in the "Gauge Modes / Readings" section on the produce page.
-
How accurate is the P3 Gauge and it's sensor readings?
The P3 Gauge displays real-time true data from your ECU's sensor readings. Many times these readings will be more accurate than your cars dashboard which often shows "dummy" or "soft" values. An optional analog sensor can be added for certain data types to ensure maximum accuracy.
-
How does the P3 Gauge get data from my car's existing sensors?
It plugs into the OBD2 port and acts as a diagnostics reader. If you want to keep that port free, a hard-wire harness kit is available.
-
How hard is it to install a P3 Gauge and how long does it take?
Most installs take 5–30 minutes, depending on your skill level and vehicle.
-
What if I want to use the OBD port for other things?
You can unplug the gauge at any time, it keeps it's settings. We also offer an OBD2 splitter, as well as a hardwire kit. If you want to use another device along with the P3 Gauge, it is best to leave the gauge in ConF mode, as in this mode it will not talk on the vehicle network, or interfere with other devices.
-
Will installing a P3 Gauge void my vehicle warranty?
No. Using a P3 Gauge is the same as plugging in an OBD2 scan tool. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.) and Right-to-Repair principles, you have the right to use your own diagnostic tools through the OBD2 port. A manufacturer cannot void or deny warranty coverage just because an aftermarket tool or gauge was connected.
-
Will installing it in the vent affect heating or A/C?
The P3 Gauge is engineered to retain airflow through your vent, so heating and A/C performance are not affected. Each gauge is designed for its specific vehicle to ensure minimal compromise.
-
Will modifications or tuning affect my readings?
Standard modifications and ECU reflashes typically do not affect accuracy. Only piggy-back tuning that alters sensor data may require an optional analog sensor.
